SUBJECT: TO REVISE THE SPECIFICATION FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF VIDEO PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE CTC No. 0700


PURPOSE

To revise the specification for the classification of Video Production Associate CTC No. 0700 as shown in the attachments.

FACTS

  1. These revisions reflect the need of the department as it recruits in a highly specialized market. It also clarifies the duties and physical requirements of the position and allows for specific experience to substitute for the education requirement.
  2. The Burbank City Employees' Association will continue to represent this classification and the BCEA has been advised of these revisions.
  3. The Public Information Officer concurs with these recommendations.
  4. This specification has been formatted to conform to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  5. The Civil Service Board approved the changes on January 8, 2003.

ANALYSIS & CONCLUSION

These revisions allow the applicants to be better prepared for the specialized duties and requirements of this classification, as well as addressing the current needs of the department as it recruits in a highly specialized market.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no salary change and no fiscal impact is anticipated from these changes.

RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the specification for the classification of Video Production Associate CTC No. 0700 be revised as shown in the attachment.
