PURPOSE:  

The purpose of this report is to present the City Council with a request from Council Member Dr. David Gordon.  At the April 17th Council meeting, Dr. Gordon requested that Council consider taping the City Council�s annual Goal Setting Workshop for airing on Burbank TV6.  

BACKGROUND:

Each year, right after the annual City Council Reorganization Meeting on May 1^st, the City Council holds an informal goal setting workshop on a Saturday.  The Council Members share their views and priorities on programs and projects they would like to see accomplished in the upcoming year.  These goal setting workshops have been held at locations other than the Council Chambers.  The City has publicized the meetings and made a public comment period available during the meeting.

ANALYSIS:

The Council�s 2007 Goal Setting Workshop will be held on Saturday, May 5 in a ground floor meeting room in the Administrative Services Building.   If it is the wish of the Council, they could direct the Public Information Office to videotape the meeting for replay at a later date on Burbank TV6. Since this has not been budgeted, costs will be absorbed within the PIO�s regular budget.

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council discuss whether they wish to tape the Goal Setting Workshop on May 5, 2007 and provide direction to staff.
