This program provides for the repair of damaged sidewalk, curb, gutter, and driveways, as well as new sidewalk construction. The location of this project is Lamer Street between Magnolia Boulevard and Chandler Boulevard as identified on Exhibit A. Bid Schedule No. 1222 was advertised on October 21 and 25, 2006.
Analysis:
A bid opening was held on November 7, 2006, and four (4) contractors submitted bids ranging from $117,190.00 to $213,035.90 (Exhibit B).
KALBAN, Inc. of Sun Valley California submitted the lowest bid of $117,190.00, which is 2.2 percent below the engineers estimate of $119,800.00. This contractor has previously performed work similar to the scope of work in this project for the City of Burbank with satisfactory results.
