THE FILM AND TELEVISION ACTION COMMITTEE RESOLUTION:

Adoption of proposed resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURBANK APPROVING THE SUPPORT OF FILING A PETITION UNDER SECTION 301(a) OF
THE TRADE ACT OF 1974 IN SUPPORT OF THE FILM AND TELEVISION ACTION
COMMITTEE.
It is recommended that the Council direct
staff to move forward with the following (or a combination of the
following) options:
1. Send letters of support to the
three legislative offices and the three committees where the legislative
bills are heard.
2. Have Council representation at the
committee hearings in Sacramento for each bill.
3. Determine which other cities are
interested in pursuing this effort as a group and work together through
the League of California Cities to promote production retention in the
State.

TO CONSIDER THE COMPENSATION OF THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY:
Recommendation:
Pursuant to the request of the Council
Sub-Committee, it is recommended that the Council discuss and consider the
current compensation of the City Manager and City Attorney and direct
staff as appropriate.

The compensation for the City Manager was
increased by six percent and the City Attorney�s compensation by 2.5
percent. A resolution to adjust the City Attorney�s salary range would be
brought back to the Council. |
