SUBJECT: City Manager

With the recent resignation of the City Manager, the City Council now has the opportunity for the first time in nearly 18 years to select a new person for that position.

The Council has several options:

1. The Council may direct that negotiations begin with a specific individual.

2. The Council may solicit applications from specific individuals or from a category of individuals (e.g. all cities in the state).

3. The Council may employee an executive search firm with special expertise in city government.

It is recommended that the City Council discuss this matter and either take action or give direction to staff.
